It is often said that people who own pets live longer than those who don't. No-one is sure why this is but perhaps it's because pets always love you, never argue with you, and are always there when you need a cuddle. Llamas make good pets. They probably behave more like cats than dogs. This is just as well because if a llama jumped up to give you a lick you'd get squashed. They are quite shy creatures but very inquisitive. Llamas are very good with children and will allow small children to ride on their backs. Some people take llamas into hospitals to cheer up the patients. A lot of llama keepers allow their 'friends' to come into the house occasionally. They are very clean animals so don't leave smelly heaps on the carpet. |
